The top ski locations in the U.S., according to Visited, are:
- Vail, Colorado, is the top ski destination in the U.S. With rugged slopes in the Rocky Mountains, serene alpine resorts, and stunning mountain views, Vail has something for everyone.
- Breckenridge, Colorado, is the country’s second most visited ski destination. The expansive ski slopes in the Rocky Mountains have beginner-friendly options and more advanced skiing.
- Aspen, Colorado, is the third most popular place to ski in the U.S. The upscale mountain town includes luxury resorts and four mountains to explore — Aspen, Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk, and Snowmass.
- Park City, Utah, has beautiful skiing in the Rocky Mountains. Expert skiers can find some of the steepest, most challenging slopes in the country at Park City, but beginner-friendly green trails also exist for beginners.
- Beaver Creek, Colorado, is the fifth most visited ski destination in the U.S. The Beaver Creek Resort includes three villages, five mountains, and 150 trails. There are slopes to suit all levels, with 19% for beginners, 43% for intermediate, and 38% for expert/advanced).
6. Jackson Hole, Wyoming, is renowned for its breathtaking scenery and steep slopes. The stunning Western ski destination has 50 percent of its trails rated expert level and includes some of the most challenging slopes in the country.
7. Copper Mountain, Colorado, has three villages, with more than 20 percent of trails dedicated to beginners and 54 percent rated as expert level.
8. Winter Park, Colorado, is the country’s eighth most popular ski destination. The resort includes a wide range of slopes, with almost 30 percent beginner trails and over half of the trails expert level.
9. Deer Valley, Utah, is an upscale ski resort featuring gorgeous mountain views, well-groomed trails, powdery snow, and tree skiing for advanced and expert skiers.
10. Heavenly, California, has scenic skiing with the most slopes in Lake Tahoe, with 4,800 skiable acres and 3,500 vertical feet (1,067 meters) in elevation. The ski area is the top West Coast ski destination and the tenth most popular ski spot in the U.S.
