The ruins include cliffside views and stone buildings, including a castle perched on the edge of a limestone cliff overlooking the Caribbean coast.

Palenque, also known as Lakamha, was an ancient Mayan city that has ruins dating from ca. 226 BC to ca. 799 AD. It is located in southern Mexico in the state of Chiapas. The site includes sculptures, carvings, hieroglyphic inscriptions, and architecture that give insight into the lives of the citizens of the ancient city-state.
